The Concept and Practice of English Drama Teaching in Primary Schools from the Perspective of Life Practice Education

Abstract: With the change of talent demand in the new era, the concept of life practice education has emerged, whose core connotation and nurturing goals are highly compatible with the unique teaching mode and nurturing value of English drama teaching, which can effectively support the introduction of drama teaching into the primary English classroom. The research focuses on the concept and proposition of life practice education, clarifies the basic principles of English drama teaching in primary schools in terms of content selection, implementation and goals setting, and clarifies the value of English drama teaching in cultivating primary school students’ability of living, practice, learning, self-directed, cooperation and creating. It also discusses the implementation path of English drama teaching in primary schools from the perspective of life practice education,including the creation of scripts based on life materials, the development of learning space through the collaboration of home, school and community, and the design of creative after-school extension activities. We hope to provide effective reference for the introduction of drama teaching into primary school English classrooms and help to promote the comprchensive development of primary school students.
