[Abstract] In his monograph Education of the Value of Being Needed published by Xiamen UniversityPress, Dr. Wang Shusheng systematically elaborates on the philosophy of "value of being needed"education. Itis not only an indigenous original theory boosting the high-quality development of vocational education in Chi-na, but also embodies universal cross-cultural value. Currently, the internationalization of vocational educationneeds to shift from one-way ouput to two-way interactive engagement. Breaking away from a single endogenousresearch perspective, this paper adopts cross-cultural and overseas Chinese culural perspectives to conduct anin-depth analysis of the theoretical core of this philosophy. The study indicates that as an ethical norn forcommunication transcending geographical and consanguineous boundaries, the value of being needed preciselyresponds to the identity anxiety of overseas Chinese youth and provides value guidance for internationalschool-running platforms such as Maritime Silk Road Colleges. By building a cross-culural demand networkthrough multi-party collaboration among governments, schools, industry associations, enterprises and overseasChinese communities, this education model replaces self-centeredness with an orientation toward others'needsand eliminates cultural barriers via systematic symbiosis, It thus promotes two-way interactive development ofeducation, culture, and industries within the global arena, contributing a micro-level educational philosophy andpractical paradigm to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
