Chinese Literature Today and the Overseas Dissemination of Chinese Literature -Interview with Mr.Yao Jianbin,Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Literature Today

Abstract:Founded in 2010, Chinese Literature Today (CLT) is an English journal published in the United States with the collaboration of Beijing Normal University and the University of Oklahoma, sponsored by Hanban/ the headquarters of the Confucius Institute. This journal is committed to introducing remarkable contemporary Chinese writers, poets and their works to the English World, and has played an indispensable role in promoting the English translation and overseas dissemination of contemporary Chinese literature. The writer interviewed Mr. YaoJianbin, deputy editor-in-chief of Chinese Literature Today, through an online conference on issues related to the operation mechanism, selection of original works, setting of the columns,translation process, publication and distribution, and readers’feedback of this journal, in order to explore the operation process of Chinese Literature Today and provide references for the English translation and overseas dissemination of contemporary Chinese literature.
