Derrida's De-centering Deconstructionist Philosophy
Chen Shidan
Abstract:Deconstructivism is a critical tool of postmodernism. It opposes dualism, systematism and centralism, advocates relativism, recognizes differences, respects the Others, emphasizes intersubjectivity, and advocates the thorough pluralism of thinking modes, expression methods, artistic genres and language games. Derrida's deconstructive philosophy aims to dismantle the wholeness and identity of the structure with the central reference and achieve the goal of eliminating centralism. Derrida puts forward the principle of “Différance” in interpretation, and regards the search for the meaning of texts as an endless game of“Différance", as an attempt to disintegrate centrality and identity through the grasp of ambiguous and polysemous meanings. Derrida puts forward such words as “Différance”“Dissemination”“traces”and “substitution”.These fuzzy words with dual meaning and in motion grow out of their original fixed meaning, aiming at dismantling the definite structure with a central reference and thus constitutes Derrida's deconstruction strategy.
