The Value Positioning and Optimization Path of Undergraduate Law Educationin public Security colleges and universities

Abstract: Undergraduate law education in public security colleges and universities is the corecarrier for cultivating public security legal talents. By analyzing the consensus reached at twonational symposiums in 2003 and 2011, this paper reveals the current positioning and futuredevelopment path of public security legal education. The value orientation of undergraduate laweducation in public security colleges and universities is reflected as an important component ofChina's legal education system, the talent foundation for the construction of a law-based publicsecurity, the carrier for the inheritance of public security legal culture, and the main body for the construction of public security legal theory. To promote its development, three aspects needto be focused on: First, taking ideological and political education as the foundation, givingfull play to the advantages of police-style management and the triple identity of teachers, andimplementing the principle of fostering virtue and nurturing talent; Second, in line with the"National Standards for the Quality of Undergraduate Education in Regular Institutions ofHigher Learning", improve the "10+X"curriculum system, and enhance the adaptability ofpractical teaching to the legal profession. Third, highlight the characteristics of public security,deepen the cooperation between the university and the bureau, and cultivate compound talentswho "understand the law, are proficient in business and strong in politics". This research aimsto provide theoretical support for the reform of legal education in public security colleges anduniversities, and to contribute to the rule of law in public security and the modernization ofnational governance.
