Abstract: Addressing the practical tensions in basic education between scale and personalization, teacher workload and the essence of education, this study employs theoretical analysis and model construction to explore how AI agents can empower and reshape teaching processes in basic education. It examines how AI agents can achieve deep collaboration with teachers and “little teachers", clarifies the roles of these three entities and their complementary mechanisms throughout the teaching process, and constructs a “three-teacher collaboration” model involving the “teacher-little teacher-AI agent". The study proposes four actionable pathways for AI-enabled teaching reform, offering insights for high-quality development in basic education:“data-driven teaching process redesign",“balancing scale and personalization to promote educational equity",“freeing teachers to return to the essence of education", and “multidimensional evaluation to deepen competency orientation".
