[Abstract]Taking "everyday products as media of cultural dissemination" as its theoretical core, this paper draws on the therapeutic toy design project "Old-Age 'Lock' Play" as an illustrative case, and, combining relevant literature with data from 82 valid questionnaires, examines how traditional Chinese mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship may achieve intergenerational dissemination through everyday family life. Amidst deepening population aging, the elderly's needs for cognitive maintenance, emotional companionship, and spiritual- cultural engagement are growing, yet the market still lacks products combining cultural significance, age-friendly experience, and therapeutic qualities. The study proposes that mortise-and-tenon structures are cultural symbols capable of product-based translation, and that applying them to therapeutic toy design involves a progressive process of "symbolic cognition," "bodily perception," and "emotional identification." The research argues that contemporary dissemination of traditional craftsmanship should move beyond decorative use and instead build continuous, tangible, participatory pathways through everyday products, revealing the elderly as an audience often overlooked in cultural dissemination.
