Research on the Development of Cross-border Wealth Management Connect and
Pathways to Promote RMB Internationalization

Abstract: As an important initiative and innovative pilot for advancing financial integration andcooperation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Cross-border WealthManagement Connect is of great practical significance. Starting with its development background andoverall status, this paper summarizes four major characteristics of the program: a promising start,frequent business transactions, participation of diverse banking institutions, and predominant stablefixed-income products. It further puts forward targeted suggestions on how the Cross-border WealthManagement Connect can facilitate RMB internationalization. The findings aim to offer references fordeepening financial cooperation in the Greater Bay Area and advancing the sustained development ofRMB internationalization.
