Abstract: Based on social support theory and social capital theory, this study constructs an integratedanalytical framework of "Formal Support-Informal Support/Dual Types of Social Capital-Community Integration". Taking H Community in Dongguan City as a case, it conducts anempirical study on the community integration of the floating population by comprehensively usingcase study, in-depth interview and field observation. The findings show that the social capital of thefloating population in H Community is characterized by a structural imbalance: strong bonding capital yet insufficient bridging capital. Formal support focuses on cultivating bridging capital, while informal support emphasizes consolidating bonding capital. Both exert influences on economic integration, social integration and psychological integration respectively through the intermediary role of capital, with three synergistic mechanisms running through the whole process from support transformation tointegration. Based on the above findings, countermeasures are proposed from three aspects: optimizingthe support system, balancing the capital structure and building a collaborative linkage system, so as toprovide theoretical reference and practical experience for the practice of community integration of the floating population.
