Abstract:Macao-themed documentaries play a pivotal role in interpreting the essence of China'snarrative to the international community, refining the construction of national discourse systems, andenhancing global communication effectiveness. This study offers an in-depth analysis of threedimensions of Macao-themed documentary creation. First, these documentaries are deeply rooted inMacao's multicultural coexistence within the global historical context, the cinematic articulation ofpatriotic sentiments, and the political functionality of "One Country, Two Systems" framework.Second, their narrative framework-designed to be integrated into global communication discourses-is constructed through a dual focus on modern development and historical heritage, a narrativeapproach blending collective memory with personal epics, and a conceptual presentation that connectsMacao's unique experiences with a global perspective. Third, the dissemination practices, including the empowerment of emerging technological clusters, the establishment of an omni-mediacommunication matrix, and the adoption of a "documentary+" paradigm to cultivate Macao's urbanintellectual property(IP), collectively provide a replicable Macao model for reshaping the city's imageand advancing China's cultural soft power.
